When we first began as an FSO specialized integrator/distributor, MRV was our first equipment pick. Now, eight years later, with design/installation certification from all 6 manufacturers, MRV is still at the top of our list. MRV's history in the FSO marketplace is one that we've participated in right along with MRV. Going back ten years or so, AstroTerra was Dr. Eric Korevaar's brain child, and one of the very first successful FSO startups. MRV entered the FSO arena with its purchase along with its purchase of Dr. David Medved's Jolt Communications sometime around 1999 or so. These two acquisitions were spun together originally under the name Optical Access, and later brought in under the broader MRV Communications branding.

So it was exciting to be selected in June of this year as MRV's first stocking distributor for the TereScope Free-Space Optics solution set.  And with the continuing rapid development of cutting edge FSO models, our enthusiasm is right at "red line!"

The most recent twist to MRV's FSO operations was its recent consolidation under the auspices of the original Jolt organization. This has already produced fruit in the form of some very exciting new models that really map more appropriately to the current hot spots for FSO:
