MRV TereScope Free-Space Optics Models-

The TereScope set of Free-Space Optics models is the largest selection of supported speeds, protocols and distances available anywhere. Case in point: the brand new low cost GigE TS700/G is not just the lowest cost GigE link in the world, it is loaded with quality features including Ethernet accessed management. With over 6000 links already in operation worldwide, TereScope is a proven, high quality, mature FSO product set.

MRV's history in the FSO marketplace is one that we've participated in right along with MRV. Going back ten years or so, AstroTerra was Eric Korevaar's brain child, and one of the very first successful FSO startups. MRV entered the FSO arena with its purchase along with its purchase of David Medved's Jolt Communications sometime around 1999 or so. These two acquisitions were spun together originally under the name Optical Access, and later brought in under the broader MRV Communications branding.

The most recent twist to MRV's FSO operations was its recent consolidation under the auspices of the original Jolt organization. This has already produced fruit in the form of some very exciting new models that really map more appropriately to the current hot spots for FSO:

  •     The new low cost Gigabit Ethernet TS700/G (multi-mode fiber interface and IP addressed out-of-band management)
  •     The new low cost Fast Ethernet TS700/100 powered by 802.3af Power Over Ethernet on it CAT5 interface

 

Mounts are available to suite any installation environment (HD all aluminum construction)
